Welcome to the wikispace for our English class! (8:30-10:30)
Rationale
I have started this wiki with 2 goals in mind:
Goal #1:
A) This is a space where resources can be shared and accessed after your year at OISE is finished. That way you will continue to be able to view the work of your classmates as long as you would like.
B) I also wanted to provide a common space for you to collaborate on your assignments, post work for feedback and share your completed work with your colleagues in class.
A wikipage has some distinct advantages when it comes to collaboration including:
It is a "living document". Your document is the wikipage - it displays your most recent work. However, it also saves earlier versions by date and records what changes were made. (You don't have to attach files, download files, upload files and try to remember which one is your most current version).
You can also have a discussion "behind the scenes" of your document with your group members.
Goal #2:
Wikispaces are FREE to K-12 teachers! So, hopefully, by using this yourself, you will feel comfortable enough to consider using it with your students in the future.
Getting Started
a) Click on the page listed to the left of this screen that I have set up for you to post your lesson plans. That is where you will be able to make your own page.
b) If you're unfamiliar with wikispaces, check out this short "tutorial" for an overview:
